Digital Wireless Corporation™, founded
in 1995 and based in Los Angeles, California, manufactures
secure, all-digital, Internet-linked dispatch radio equipment
and systems. DWC's completely digital product family, using
the DV/IP™ protocol, operates
in the 138-520 MHz bands, in 12.5 and 25 kHz spaced channels
at 9.6 kbps and 19.2 kbps respectively. DV/IP™
provides secure conversations and seamless network coverage
for business, government and military users.
Digital Wireless also operates commercial DV/IP™ networks
in the US and Canada. DV/IP™ is a proprietary wireless network
technology specifically designed for wide-area, national and
international wireless dispatch and computer networks. Built
to metric dimensions and standards, but to meet the high performance
expectations of its domestic market, the third generation
DV/IP™ Network provides secure voice and data transmission.
DWC's product line includes digital mobile and portable radios,
base stations, network hardware and applications software
for push-to-talk dispatch radio missions.
Unlike DWC’s competitors, who employ expensive
circuit-switched technology, DV/IP™ is packetized, easily
routed and networkable using the Internet to form a peer to
peer network that is seamless to its users, and at substantially
lower cost. DV/IP™ networks have been on the air in Los Angeles
since 1997, and in Canada since 1998. Digital Wireless products
are designed in our labs from the ground-up and are purpose-designed
for digital voice and digital data wireless communications.
While our products are primarily manufactured
in the United States, we use many high quality vendors in
East Asia for the production of certain components. The company
owns and operates an wireless research center and test range
in Riverside County, California.
The Digital Wireless team consists of a core
of experienced wireless telecommunications professionals with
extensive experience in the design, manufacture , deployment
and operation of radio communications networks. During its
infancy a group of money-center banking professionals shared
the management team's vision, helped finance the company's
R&D efforts, and remain intimately involved today.
