DN-100 DIGITAL LOGGING RECORDER

Audio and non-audio data transmitted in a DV/IP system may be recorded onto a hard disk recorder, and permanently archived on CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs or any other form of computer data storage media.

All traffic on a DV/IP network, whether audio or data, may be "logged" or "recorded" by a DN-100 Digital Logging Recorder. Communications on all trunked or conventional channels may be stored and converted into ".dwc" files. Because this is a transmission-oriented recorder, the DN-100 does not record "silence" between transmissions.

DV/IP-format .dwc files contain compressed digital audio in DWC's proprietary format, and include a header which contains the ID of the originator, the ID of the destination, the time, date, channel, and other pertinent information, even the GPS location if the originating mobile or portable had an embedded GPS receiver.

The DN-100 Recorder stores all transmissions, regardless of the channel, group, or unit. It does not have specific recording channels, since "channels" are irrelevant on a DV/IP trunked system. The audio and data transmissions are not decrypted prior to storage, so the stored files, both in the DN-100 and on the ultimate long term storage media, are secure from interception. DWC's DN-150 Archive Playback Software and a DC-100 Desktop Dispatch Gateway are required for archive playback.

Note: This system only works with the DV/IP Digital Radio System. It is not compatible with analog audio inputs or non-DWC systems.
