DWC's digital radios offer unsurpassed audio quality, even in poor signal conditions. DWC's unique digital voce coding ("vocoding") process demands a higher quality audio than conventional microphones can provide. Consequently DWC developed a special digital microphone with flat response well beyond that required for two-way communications - because DWC can deliver flat audio response well beyond normal two-way radios.

The DWC Microphone utilizes a high quality condensor microphone, special acoustic construction, amplified electronics, a red-green "transmit/receive" LED, and a 5mm cable with a "rubber-booted" telecom connector. The microphone is designed for normal "close-talking" hand held mobile applications, but can be automatically switched to high gain mode for DWC's covert"hang up bracket monitoring" mode.
