DV/IP
mobile radio-equipped vehicles may be tracked and their location
displayed at the dispatcher's workstation by using DWC's AVL
Tracking Display Software. Each DV/IP mobile transceiver has
an internal GPS receiver.
 |
Tracking
Display Software may be run on a PC desktop computer,
and is driven by data received by way of an Internet
connection to a DV/IP Network, of by an RS-232 serial
connection to a standard DV/IP Mobile Radio.
Each
mobile is displayed in its actual location. The operator
may "zoom" in and out on the map display,
as required. By selecting a particular mobile's icon
with the mouse, that unit's subscriber information is
displayed at the right of the map.
|
GPS Data
is transmitted with each voice transmission, or may be polled
upon demand by the dispatcher. In addition, the DV/IP GPS
Mobile software allows the dispatcher to set the radio into
automatic reporting mode, with user defined time intervals.
The operator may set the program to leave a trail of "bread
crumbs" icons showing the path or the mobile.
