DV/IP™ Features - Page 1

The matrix lists some of the main operational features of the DV/IP IP Radio Network.

6.25/12.5 KHz Channelization Channels are assignable on 6.25 and 12.5 KHz spacing and operable at 6.25 and 12.5 kHz bandwidth.
Audio Enhancements Variable ratio audio compression with background noise-reducing gain expansion and low distortion soft limiting to compensate for user microphone technique and minimize distortion in the A/D process.
Audible User Prompting Tones of varying frequency, duration and pattern are used to alert the operator of various conditions such as busy channel, timeout timer, etc. Such tones can be muted by the operator for covert or silent operation.
Auto Registration A unit which is powered up and discovers a control channel at a particular site will be registered to that site. If it drives out of range of that site, it automatically searches for a control channel strong enough to be useable and registers there. A message is sent to deregister it from the previous site. No operator action is required, and internally adjustable levels cause this transition to be done in an orderly manner depending upon received signal levels.
Available Bands 150-170 MHz, 220-222 MHz, 380-420 MHz, and 450-520 MHz. DWC Base Station Repeater, Mobile and Portable cover these frequency ranges with full specified performance.
Blocked Cell Message Transmission Guarantee When a member of a talkgroup is registered on a cell that is blocked (all channels busy) and a group call is made to that member's talkgroup, the DV/IP system guarantees delivery of each voice message to every talkgroup member because messages are stored in the Site Router at each cell, and transmitted on a first-in, first-out basis. Competitive systems drop from a call all group members that are at blocked cells.
