Digital
Wireless Corporation has developed world-leading technology for IP
(Internet Protocol) wireless communications using low-valued low frequency
radio communications channels normally used by legacy analog dispatch
services.
Incorporated
in Delaware in 1995, Digital Wireless Corporation operates in three,
related business sectors:
-
Radio
Network Service Provider – Providing a service to electric utilities
and others for maintenance and management of the grid. Many years
as a proven profitable and reliable company.
-
Technology
Products Company – Developed smart equipment for use on the radio
networks DWC operates. Has been successful at developing new hardware
at the specification required, an existing product suite with products
working in the field. Significant potential to earn revenues from
licensing royalties supplying the product globally.
-
A
Pre-paid Electricity Provider. Partnering with electric utilities
taking advantage of the deregulated market to provide power to cities
in a novel way using the DWC developed technology and licensed radio
network. Significant opportunities to exploit the radio licenses
already owned by DWC (only 2% currently used) and open up latent
demand for electricity via a novel payment method.
Initially developed for push-to-talk dispatch radio communications,
DWC’s customer base is today almost solely comprised of utility companies
on two continents, which have desired to employ radio facilities they
own to control portions of the modern electric grid.
|
Consequently
DWC has developed offshoots of its core wireless digital technology
specifically to control smart meters and electric load management. The
core technology already supports utility internal radio dispatch communications,
vehicle tracking/management and SCADA (supervisory control data communications
to and from electric substations).
i2way
is the name of DWC’s proprietary all-digital wireless network technology
and its worldwide operating network.
i2way
is a sophisticated set of mission-critical protocols invented and owned
by DWC that have been utilized in the development of network infrastructure,
namely cell site base stations, routers and customer dispatch centers
and management software, plus i2way wireless smart electric meters,
load management switches, vehicle tracking and communications radios
and personal portable radios and meter test sets.
Utility
companies with operations in mainly rural areas have very wide area,
but thin bandwidth connectivity problems uniquely solved by traditional
land mobile radios systems that are upgraded to the advanced all-digital
i2way Network. Because i2way Network nodes and subnetworks may be owned
and operated by utility companies, but also extended by DWC-owned i2way
Network modes (in major metro areas) plus extended worldwide by other
privately owned i2way Network Nodes, it is now possible to carry digital
communications to and from Smart Gird components such as Smart Meters
and Load Management Controllers.
